Our 22nd Wedding Anniversary

2nd January is Our Wedding Anniversary.

We had some pretty roses in the garden, those that withstood the searing heat of 43 degrees on New Year's eve. Some are new buds and some are in full bloom and they look quite pretty. So I've cut some and put them in a vase, placed it on the kitchen table with a cute little card for Carol.

In the afternoon, we brought Jon & Sarah to Victoria Garden for a Movie - "The legend of Zoro" followed by a meal at The London Cafe at Port Melbourne. The movie was pretty good, with the special effects, bits of humour and stunts but the story line was not too impressive.

The sun was still beating down on us when we ordered our food. Jon insisted that we sat under the evening sun as the cool breeze can be a bit chilly indoors. We took a long walk along the board walks, the jetty and beach front, while looking at the dinners in those waterfront restaurants, anglers at the pier and some random dogs doing their trickc - picking stick thrown by their owners.

The ferry, Spirit of Tasmania was docking and about to depart when we leave, spilling streams of thick smoke, the huge vessel casting a large shadow agains the red horizon and the golden setting sun. We took several pictures and called it a night at about 9.00pm.

We meant to go to Lygon street for some sweets and deserts but was still too ful to take anymore.....

Watch Night Service

Some photos of children playing sparklers.

It was a hot hot 43 degrees night. But our faithful BOL folks came, young and old, some 45-50 of them, jam packed into the rumpus room.
Tracy led us in a few songs and we split into 2 main groups to pray and share. The Older adults in the aircond comfort of the kitchen/dining areas while the young people stay at the cooler rumpus room downstairs.

We had a devotion on the following passage;

1. You got to Abide before you can Abound - John 15:5-7
2. Manasseh comes before Ephraim - Genesis 41:50-52
3. Live for one thing and one goal - Phil 3:13-14
4. Make a Seimic Shift from Infancy to Adulthood - Hebrew 5:12-6:1; Eph 4:14-15

Everyone has a meaningful time, including the visitors, Linda & Thomas. We sat in a large circle have a session of praying for each person on our right. We also introduced "concert prayers" for every department of the church.

The young people did similar passage and prayed for a longer time.
Praise God for a meaning ful time where we can gather as a family of God to farewell 2005 and ushered in 2006.
