CONFERENCE CHALLENGE TO CHURCH

THE "WALKING IN THE PROPHETIC" CONFERENCE last week was a call for us all to get closer to the Lord and invite Him back in to the centre of our lives. We should expect His presence and power in our lives to change us to be "spiritual people" and bring hope and healing to people and situations around us: to be a prophetic people.

The speakers, Rick Joyner, John Dawson and Jack Deere, all called us to a strongly biblical faith, committed to prayer, open to hear God speaking into our lives and using the gifts God has given each one.

SOME HIGHLIGHTS:

1. Affirming the vital place of the whole Body being in unity
2. Finger-pointing and criticism of one another in the Church are barriers to revival
3. Valuing all the gifts and ministries - and they need each other to be effective
4. Humility and bearing shame for Christ are essentials for Him to use us powerfully
5. All Christians to be ministering, all bringing their gifts for worship (2 Cor. 14)
6. The need to discover the history of the Church, the city and the nation to understand our identity as a foundation for knowing God'' redemptive plan and call on us.

Thanksgiving

1. Thank God for the quick recovery for Katherina.
2. Thank God for a Good Sunday - we re-visited our BOL Vision & Mission Statement

Prayer Requests

1. Chidren of members' families - schools & scholarship exams, their social life - that the Lord will continue to bring helpful & supportive friends to them.
2. Pray for Sensitivity & Compassion - for many who are lonely & hurting among us, we have a high proportion of single parents due to death of spouse or broken marriages.
3. Pray for the Youth,Uni, YA JAM NIGHT this Sat . Pray that Ps Misso's message to be challenging, outreach focus and touch the hearts of young people.
4. Baptism candidates - Jie Yi, James, Ketty
5. For more visible unity & love in the church.
6. Hunger for God and love for the people.
7. Personal needs - work, health, families - William & Xue Bing(Health & direction), Michael (Computer evaluation) & Sim (new work setting) etc.
8. For BOL - sensitivity to the Holy Spirit's voice & leading, Power & wisdom from the Word. for greater openness to divine leading,
9. For Church worldwide - especially the ordination of gay priests in some section of the Anglican Church - That the Lord will remoce reproach from His church due to the disobedience of some elements and section of his body.
10. Exams - Pray for those who still have 1 or 2 more papers this week. Mark, Matthew, Jocelyn & others

Thank God for a Good Sunday - Bro Tong's preaching on Psalm 23

Prayer requests

1. We prayed that as a church, we will always build on the foundation of Jesus, focus on the cross and the call of God
2. Remind ourselves that it was God who has called us to build a dreamteam - unity & harmony will only be real when humility to the Lord and each other.
3. Pray for the removal of blockage & hindrance to the moving of God, healing in relationship.
4. Pray for clear goals, unity of purpose, doctrine and faith - both practice and ideals. Order and structure in homes and church be respected so that we can live up to the vision of being a Character Church.
5. Exams for the remaining Uni Students.
6. Personal needs of members eg Rosalyn, Julie etc....

1. Thank God for the smooth running of the Friday's Rally. Good turn-out despite the weather and last minute change of speakers etc. Healing and salvation of Souls, Unity of Churches.

Prayer requests

1. Katherina's surgery on Sat. - for surgeon and full medical team - wisdom and care, for quick recovery.
2. Healings - Michael's elbow, Sharon & Fiona's Eczema,Soo Eng's eyes. etc
3. Provision of Job & Businesses - Bill & Linda, Henry & Connie - for wisdom to prosper and overcome.
4. Breakthrough in families - names listed eg children with behaviorial issues, profesional help etc.
5. Exam for all students - VCE, Uni and matured-age students
6. Baptism candidates - Jie Yi, James, Ketty
7. Challenge of having a stress free lunch cooking every sunday
8. General - discernment and the grace and love of God, Feeding of the flock at BOL - milk for the young, meat for the matured.
9. Continual relationship re-building for some members who left their previous church etc
10. Children &Youth Ministry - for long term leadership & direction
