The last two weeks has sailed by so quickly.
Firstly, I had a visit from Ps Lim from Triang, Pahang. At the request of William who has little time to spare due to his work load. But he insisted on extending hospitality as he maintained that Ps Lim is from his own home town. So I did a bit of a tour guiding and the obligatory dinner and lunch etc. , as she and her family have not been in Australia before. I brought them to visit see some winery and Olive farm at Kangaroo ground and then proceed to the gold mining town of Warrandyte. Had a Yum Cha lunch at Jackie's kitchen.
Then last Tuesday was the funeral of Sam, brother of Deanna. Both Carol and I visited him on 8th Oct just when he was just transferred from the country hospital of Albury down to the ICU unit at Austin. Then CG & I visited him on Friday 14th Oct. He seems alert but a bit confused. Little did we expect him to pass away that very night!
He died of liver cancer and was buried in Necropolis on Tuesday 18th. The funeral was pretty sad and yet heart warming as we see the little children crying but the older boys were so stoic and helpful. Ps John Chin came this week and we brought him along to experience everything Aussie - including our funeral and serence Necropolis (literally means City of Death).
I like John's approcah to life, be affirmative and live life to the full!. The slide presentation of his trips to thetribal people in Sarawak, the Himalayas, Indonesia etc was quite informative. We exchanged tales of animals and wild game meat that we eaten in the jungles.
Last Sat, we travel to Allambee to visit a camp site. the scenery on the way to Allambee Camp was spectacular as we ascend the Strzelecki ranges. We had lunc hat Yaragon village on the Princess hwy near Warragul.
