Hearing The Voice of God

Why do so many Fail to hear the Voice of God ?

Reasons:

1) We always want to do things our own way. "Self-will" is our nature. No wonder the song by Frank Sinatra - "I'll do it my way!" is so popular. Lack of faith is shown in our desire to go against the purposes and destiny God intended for our lives.

2) We often do not respect or treasure the Word ( bible); If we are not able to treasure the voice of God in the bible, how can we be expected to treasure His word by the spirit.

3) We are not willing to follow him even if He talks to us - We are too earlthly bound and hence doubt heaven's call!

4) We even make Him repeat His word after He has has spoken to us - This is because we like Joshua and Gideon, doubt his word and start to rationalise our actions or push off whatever God speaks to us.

Quoting Isaiah 6:9,10 The Lord Jesus said in Makr 4: 11"The secret of the kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those on the outside everything is said in parables so that,
" 'they may be ever seeing but never perceiving,
and ever hearing but never understanding;
otherwise they might turn and be forgiven!
